The Preschool Buddy Program begins in the July before commencing school. Grade 5 buddies visit the local preschool in small groups on a weekly basis to get to know and support their young buddy.
The following year Prep students and their grade 6 buddies meet daily during February and then participate in activities together throughout the school year on a weekly basis. Buddies also assist the new students in the playground at recess and lunchtimes.
Rosedale Primary School is part of a cluster of schools that meet regularly to plan transition activities to secondary school.
A socialisation day where students work as teams and plan the day's activities is held annually along with informal get togethers with other rural schools. An open day and orientation day are held as part of the transition process.
A special graduation ceremony and dinner is held in the school courtyard for year six students, their parents and staff each year to celebrate the student’s final year at primary school.
